The former Republic of Ireland international actually played for the Hoops during the 1991/92 season but was generally regarded as a flop after the striker scored only four league goals in 24 league appearances.
It seems Cascarino still keeps an eye on things north of the border, however, and he appears to have some strong feelings on Brendan Rodgers’ side’s achievements over the past 12 months or so.
Appearing as a guest on Jim White’s afternoon talkSPORT show, Cascarino claimed Celtic going unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership last season was the equivalent of winning England’s League One title:

As you can probably imagine, his comments haven’t exactly gone down too well with the club’s fanatic fanbase:
Brendan Rodgers has Celtic playing with level of skill well beyond Cascarino's. Rarely did a player who cost Celtic big money ever fail to deliver like Cascarino did. The only good thing about his time was that Celtic got Tom Boyd in exchange from Chelsea. #Celtic 3/3

I think Tony Cascarino is talking out his arse, but I don't get the response "aye, but you were shite at Celtic". What's that got to do with it?

You have to give it to Tony Cascarino, he’s managed to turn out to be a worse pundit than he was a footballer.

Remember Cascarino on his debut, his first kick was a header, and he missed it

What do you think of his comments? Is he doing Celtic’s achievements a disservice?
