Celtic have offered a contract to Artem Dovbyk, according to reports in the striker’s native Ukraine.
The 20-year-old forward is one of Ukrainian football’s most promising young talents, having scored an impressive 12 goals in as many matches for Dnipro in the country’s second division.
Dnipro are historically one of Ukraine’s biggest clubs but were relegated last season for the first time in their history after suffering severe financial trouble.
And, according to reports in the Ukrainian media, via the Daily Record, Celtic have offered Dovbyk a contract, with his current deal running out on December 31.
Dovbyk was named Young Player of the Year in Ukraine for 2016/17 and, intriguingly, German Bundesliga side Augsburg have also been credited with an interest.
With massive clubs across the continent likely to renew their interest in Celtic striker Moussa Dembele next summer, could this be Brendan Rodgers’ first attempts to uncover another gem?
And what do you think of his goals?
