It looked like Jose Mourinho’s men were going to be held to a goalless draw by the Premier League new boys after a turgid first-half, with Brighton often looking like the more enterprising and dangerous side.
But United continued to huff and puff and in the 67th minute, Young delivered the breakthrough – although you probably won’t see a more deflected shot anywhere else in Europe this weekend:

United couldn’t really afford to drop more points in their bid to chase down Manchester City in the title race, so this goal could well turn out to be very important indeed.
