Brendan Rodgers made a little girl’s day by awarding her his Betfred Cup winners’ medal.
The Celtic manager picked it up after leading his side to a 2-0 win over Motherwell at Hampden this afternoon.
It was a strong performance from the Hoops despite them failing to get into top gear against a resolute Well defence.
They were helped with a big call by referee Craig Thomson – as he decided to award Celtic a penalty and send off Cedric Kipre after Scott Sinclair went down in the box.
The winger was hardly touched by Kipre, but he fell down and Thomson was quick to point to the spot and award the red.
And Moussa Dembele made no mistake with the penalty, adding to James Forrest’s opening goal just after half-time.
So Celtic got the win and amid all the post-match debate, Rodgers produced a very nice gesture with a young supporter.
Picking her out randomly from the stands, the Celtic boss put the medal around her neck and gave her a little kiss before heading back to join his team:

That’s a classy move from Rodgers – and one that is sure to have made the little girl’s day.
