Video: Giovanni Van Bronckhorst Says Rangers is Still in His Heart

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has played down reports linking him with Rangers, but admitted that the club is still in his heart.

The Feyenoord manager spoke at a press conference last night ahead of his side’s Champions League group game with Manchester City tonight.

He’s been regularly linked with becoming Rangers’ next manager since Pedro Caixinha’s sacking, but there’s been nothing concrete so far and it looks more like a link coming from his past playing spell at Ibrox.

Last night was the first opportunity the media have had to ask him about the links to Rangers, but van Bronckhorst could only play down speculation when answering.

The Dutchman – who played in Glasgow between 1998 and 2001 – said:

So van Bronckhorst has played down the link, but he hasn’t completely ruled it out – and things could change if Rangers were interested and able to put a good deal together for him.

It looks more likely that Derek McInnes will be the next Gers manager given reports, but it will be interesting to see how the landscape changes over the coming days.
