A young Liverpool fan was given the surprise of a lifetime recently, with the Premier League giants rewarding his bravery with tickets for their match with Huddersfield followed by a trip to Disneyland Paris.
Sam was born 11 weeks early and doctors immediately noticed they couldn’t see the right side of his brain, due to severe bleeding.
As a premature baby, Sam had to go for regular physio appointments.
Unfortunately one routine check-up raised concerns that he was in fact suffering from left hemiplegic cerebral palsy, a condition which means the left side of his body is significantly weaker than the right.
Despite his life-changing diagnosis the 10-year-old’s Mum still describes him as “a happy little man” who “tries his best with everything”.
And Liverpool have jumped at the chance to reward his bravery, inviting the youngster to their Melwood training ground recently.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain then surprised the whole family with tickets for their 3-0 victory over Huddersfield, before Reds legend Robbie Fowler bestowed them with another gift, a family trip to Disneyland Paris:
Brilliant effort from the Liverpool hierarchy, here!
