Marcus Rashford’s assist for Paul Pogba‘s goal against Newcastle was different class.

The French midfielder returned to the Manchester United starting XI two months after picking up a hamstring injury in a Champions League clash with Basel.

And he made an instant impact, brilliantly setting up Anthony Martial for the United equaliser after Jacob Murphy had given the visitors an early lead.

Pogba then got on the scoresheet shortly after half-time, finishing off a flowing team move.

But he has Rashford to thank for putting it on a plate. The English winger’s deft header teed it up perfectly for Pogba to run on and it was the simplest of finishes for the Frenchman:

That is a ridiculously good assist from Rashford – and one he should get a lot of credit for considering he was so close to goal and well place to have an effort himself.

Chris Smalling got United’s second goal of the game before the break, setting up Pogba to get the goal that will most likely put them out of sight against the Geordies.
