Martyn Waghorn scored a beautiful free-kick for Ipswich in their win over Preston this afternoon.

The English striker was sold by Pedro Caixinha in the summer after having a disappointing second season at Ibrox.

But he’s more than coping with life in the English Championship, belting in seven goals in 13 games going into today’s match against Preston at Portman Road.

Waghorn now has eight in 14 after getting on the scoresheet again today – and his goal came courtesy of a beautiful free-kick in a 3-0 win for his side.

Luckily, a fan managed to get the goal on camera and it is a belter:

Considering his inconsistency in getting goals last season, it’s some achievement from Waghorn to give that return so early in the season.

And you’d imagine Mick McCarthy is hoping Waghorn can kick on and get towards 20 goals for the season as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.
