The French striker has been forced to spend the majority of this season on the subs’ bench, with Alexandre Lacazette often preferred in the lone forward role, but he was given a chance in the second-half against Huddersfield tonight.
With Arsenal leading just 1-0 through an early Lacazette goal, it looked like being a nervy finish for Arsene Wenger’s men – until Giroud was on hand to put the final touch on a stunning bit of football.
They might sometimes flatter to deceive but when Mesut Ozil and the Arsenal midfield are on-form, there’s few better sights in European football.

Not too shabby, eh?
Of course, Giroud scored the Premier League goal of the season in the previous campaign – and could this be in the running for this year’s award?
