Video: Paul Merson Talks Absolute Nonsense About Diego Simeone & Everton

Diego Simeone has emerged as a shock contender to take over the vacant manager’s job at Everton – and Paul Merson has given his usual unique insight into the situation.

The former Arsenal, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough midfielder has become one of Sky Sports’ most high-profile pundits since hanging up his boots, and as we’ve told you before, Merson has been criticised in the past for some of his outlandish comments.

Sitting alongside Ian Wright and Chris Kirkland, Merson was a guest on Tuesday night’s The Debate programme, and he decided to try and breakdown exactly why Everton might be the only option for Simeone, who has won La Liga, the Spanish Cup and the Europa League during his time with Atletico, as well as reaching two Champions League finals:

He starts off OK, but what on Earth is he talking about when he mentions the early kick-offs? And why couldn’t a manager like Simeone aim to manage a Man City or Arsenal?

Is it just us, or is this a load of old tosh?
