Dele Alli announced himself on Europe’s top stage this evening by scoring a classic poacher’s goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The England and Spurs midfielder missed the first three matches of his club’s Champions League campaign this season after picking up a ban in last season’s Europa League, but he was back in the Lily White’s starting line-up this evening – and he didn’t disappoint.
After picking up a creditable draw away at Real two weeks ago, Mauricio Pochettino’s men knew a win tonight would perhaps put them in the driving seat to win their group – and Alli fired them ahead after just 27 minutes:

Harry Kane might be the superstar striker at Spurs, but Alli has definitely got a really great ability to sniff out a goal from absolutely nothing – some of the world’s greatest-ever poachers would be proud of this strike!
That’s only his sixth goal in all competitions this season – what do you think of it?
