The Anfield legend is now in charge of the youth team at the club and they were in the Scottish city last week to play against Rangers’ youth team.
The Ibrox side have decided to miss out on league action this season in favour of playing a programme of games against top sides from England and Europe.
And Liverpool were the latest visitors, running out 4-1 winners in a game played under the lights at Ibrox last Friday.
Gerrard was obviously happy with the performance and result in that game and spoke well of Rangers and Ibrox afterwards:
Gerrard has only been in charge of the Liverpool under 18 team since the start of the season, but seems to be settling in well to the job as he begins his coaching career.
Given he’s at the club and in an important position in the academy, it could be possible in the future that Gerrard takes a few steps up and gets back involved with the first team.
He left Liverpool as a player in 2015, but is considered one of their best ever players and would no doubt be a very popular appointment if he was ever to become the club’s manager.
