Bookies Have Slashed Odds on Neil McCann Taking the Rangers Job

Bookmakers have been forced to slash odds on Neil McCann taking over as Rangers manager after a flurry of bets were placed on the current Dundee boss.

McCann, of course, remains a hero to a lot of Rangers supporters after winning several Premiership titles during his playing days at Ibrox but his name being thrown into the mix is definitely something of a surprise.

Dundee is McCann’s first full-time managerial position and the Dark Blues have struggled at the bottom of the table for much of his tenure, despite a promising 2-1 victory over the Gers ten days ago.

However, according to Odds Checker, McCann’s odds have fallen from as high as 40/1 to 9/2 in the last 24 hours or so, meaning somebody somewhere reckons they know a thing or two.

Of course, Derek McInnes remains the hot favourite to take over from Pedro Caixinha, with odds currently as low as 1/6 for the Dons boss to make the switch.

But what do you make of McCann entering the fray? Is there any way he could be a serious contender?
