Both Celtic and Rangers Fans Furious About Appointment of Ref Bobby Madden

Bobby Madden has been appointed referee for this weekend’s match between Celtic and Rangers at Parkhead and, hilariously, both sets of supporters seem to think he has it in for both of them.

The whistler took charge of his last match between the two bitter rivals in March, when Rangers managed to claim a late 1-1 draw at Celtic Park, but Leigh Griffiths was controversially denied a late penalty.

The announcement of his appointment this morning sparked quite the reaction on social media – with some Celtic fans claiming Madden used to be a season ticket holder at Ibrox, whilst Rangers fans simply reckon he’ll be siding with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

In fairness to the guys at the SFA and SPFL who make these decisions, it really does seem like there’s just no pleasing folk sometimes:

What do you think of Madden taking charge of the eagerly-anticipated fixture?

Will it really make that much of a difference to the outcome?
