Celtic Fans Want More Games For Kristoffer Ajer After He Stars v Partick Thistle

Celtic fans want Kristoffer Ajer to start more games after his strong showing against Partick Thistle.

The Norwegian defender has had to watch on from the bench or the stand for the majority of this season so far, appearing just eight times before tonight’s game at Celtic Park.

Brendan Rodgers has preferred the centre back pairing of Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata, but both players haven’t covered themselves in glory in recent games – having a particularly tough time defending the four goals in the 4-0 defeat to Hearts at the weekend.

Simunovic dropped out for the Scottish Premiership clash with Thistle tonight, with Ajer coming in to partner Boyata and defence.

And Celtic fans at the game liked what they saw from the big Norwegian:

There are worries about the centre of Celtic’s defence despite the team’s strong form under Rodgers since he took over the job last summer.

But maybe Ajer could help put those worries to bed if he starts playing more games?

Next up for Celtic is Aberdeen at home on Saturday afternoon and Rodgers may decide to go with the former IK Start man at the heart of his defence again for what should be a tough match.
