Celtic Performance Gets Bad Reviews After Anderlecht Defeat

Celtic’s performance has been getting some bad reviews after tonight’s defeat to Anderlecht.

Brendan Rodgers’ men went into this evening’s final Champions League group game against the Belgian champions hoping to get the positive result that would keep them in Europe after Christmas.

They’d already beaten Anderlecht 3-0 earlier in the campaign and knew that they would advance tonight as long as they avoided a three-goal or more loss.

And that’s what they got, losing 1-0 after conceding Jozo Simunovic’s own goal in the second half.

So, Celtic will go into the Europa League last 32 draw on Friday – but some weren’t impressed with how they got there tonight:

There’s no doubt Rodgers will be disappointed with the result and the performance – and the latter was shown at half-time when he hooked Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair for Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic.

Still, Celtic are through and have Europa League football to look forward to in the second half of the campaign.
