Fans Aren’t Impressed By Rangers’ Statement on Derek McInnes Snub

Rangers have released a statement claiming to “endorse” Derek McInnes’ decision to stay at Aberdeen, leaving supporters furious.

McInnes had been tipped to succeed Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox, with a move seemingly nearing completion earlier this afternoon as u20s coach Paul Sheerin addressed the media instead of the Dons boss.

However, a dramatic and unexpected U-turn saw Aberdeen confirm that McInnes has now committed his future to the club and is looking to turn his attention toward this weekend’s match with Dundee.

McInnes’ decision to seemingly turn down the club, where he spent five years as a player, clearly frustrated the Ibrox faithful as their search for a new manager continues.

Although worse was yet to come for the Rangers fans, as the club went on to publish a statement via their website endorsing McInnes’ decision as “moving to a massive club like Rangers is a big step with concomitant risk”.

Needless to say, with the club failing to highlight a plan B and confirm Graeme Murty will continue in interim charge until the New Year, fans were raging:

Who should Rangers turn to now that McInnes has rejected the chance to become the club’s new boss?
