Gary Neville couldn’t resist taking a cheeky dig at Manchester City and their most famous supporter Noel Gallagher tonight, after the legendary songwriter was announced as a Sky Sports pundit for this weekend’s Manchester Derby.
A lifelong City follower, Gallagher is always outspoken and opinionated when it comes to the Sky Blues, to say the least, and he’ll be joining Neville, Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Graeme Souness in the studio for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, it was announced earlier today.
He might be a musician, but Noel has appeared on Match of the Day previously, as well as conducting several interviews with the likes of Neville and Carragher previously.
And following the news of his addition, ex-United right-back Neville simply couldn’t resist getting stuck in on Twitter:
We know that Noel’s not really a Twitter man but something tells us he’ll be made aware of Neville’s wisecrack before kick-off on Sunday – and we have a feeling Neville might well regret it!
