Istanbul Başakşehir Thank Everton for “Stealing” Cenk Tosun from Besiktas

With Everton set to announce the signing of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in the new year, the Turkish champions’ rivals have thanked the Toffees for “stealing” the front-man on Twitter

Tosun has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances for club and country this season and was Besiktas’ top scorer last term as they lifted the league title.

And with Sam Allardyce’s side struggling for goals after selling Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in the summer, the signing of Tosun seems to represent a good bit of business.

In fact, Besiktas’ rivals Istanbul Başakşehir were so happy with the news that Tosun is Premier League-bound,  they have posted a Tweet thanking Everton.

Tosun’s eye for goal has clearly left Başakşehir begging for his departure for some time:

Tosun scored in last night’s 4-1 victory over Osmanlispor in the Turkish Cup, however, it’s expected that this will have been his final appearance for Besiktas.
