Jurgen Klopp Backs Jordan Henderson and Describes Speculation as “Sh*t Stories”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp launched a strong defence of Jordan Henderson this afternoon, claiming reports that the midfielder is currently out of favour are “sh*t stories”.

Henderson was left out of the Liverpool team that wrecked havoc on Spartak Moscow during a thoroughly convincing 7-0 drubbing in the Champions League.

And with Georginio Wijnaldum, Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can all looking impressive against the Russian champions, several media outlets jumped to the conclusion that Henderson’s days at Anfield are numbered.

However, the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss was keen to put the speculation to bed this afternoon, describing how Henderson is tasked with the “hardest job in world” as he succeeded Steven Gerrard as club captain:

Liverpool face local rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday, with Henderson expected to return to the midfield.

Now that’s how you back your captain, Jurgen!
