Video: Neil Lennon Says He Told Staff to Stop Celebrating When Hibs Scored Against Celtic

Neil Lennon has revealed he told his celebrating Hibs backroom staff to ‘sit the f*ck down’ after his side scored against Celtic earlier this season.

A former Celtic captain and manager, Lennon will always be synonymous with the Parkhead club but he’s been in charge of Hibernian for around 18 months or so now.

As you’ll probably be fully aware, Celtic are currently on a record-breaking unbeaten domestic run which currently sits at 67 matches, but Lennon’s Hibs team arguably came closest to stopping the Hoops in their tracks back in September.

Hibs looked on course for a famous win when John McGinn scored to make it 2-1 in the 77th minute, but Callum McGregor rescued Celtic with a late leveller.

And speaking at a function this week, Lennon has talked about his reaction at the time to McGinn’s potentially decisive strike:

He might well have his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, but will this annoy Hibs fans at all? Especially with the two teams due to meet again soon?
