The two sides met for the second time in a week, just a few days after Rangers’ 3-0 win at Ibrox, and many supporters would’ve been expecting some kind of reaction from Aberdeen in-front of their home fans.
But it didn’t really pan out, and despite being reduced to 10 men for much of the second-half, Rangers ran out comfortable 2-1 winners.
Rangers have been without a manager since sacking Pedro Caixinha almost six weeks ago and Aberdeen boss McInnes has been the favourite for the role ever since – but it appears today’s match has left a lot of fans undecided if he’d be the right man for the job:
So eh, our interim manager just outclassed our "number one target" twice in the space of a few days…

Surely us battering Aberdeen twice in a week should be enough to bin mcinnes and McLean ?
— Kai Atkinson (@Kai_A_) December 3, 2017
And after another great performance against the sheep. I don't want McInnes anywhere near our club! ??????????

Our unexperienced u21’s coach just bullied McInnes twice in a week surely to fuck we can’t appoint him now

Hoping to god that Derek McInnes isn't unveiled as the new Rangers manager tomorrow. Give Murty until the end of the season I say. #RFC

If McInnes is the new manager, he will have to win over an underwhelmed support.

I’ll be pissed off if derek mcInnes gets the job @RangersFC ??

Outstanding result today @RangersFC ?♂️?? Murty & JJ have done well in a post they've been pushed into! For the record, I don't want McInnes, Shinnie or McLean near Ibrox. Ryan Jack is a fuckin Protestant btw!

Murty seems a better fit for the Gers than Mcinnes

Wasnt too bothered about McInnes if Im honest but to manage two teams in two games is pretty good going ? #2ndplace Good for a start ? See you Monday boss!

If McInnes does end up getting the Rangers job, will Murty always just give him a smirk when he sees him around Ibrox?
— Aidan Scott (@aidantscott) December 3, 2017
What do you think of the situation?
Should McInnes still be the favourite to take over at Ibrox?
