Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton Clash Over Standard of Celtic v Rangers Game

Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton clashed earlier over the standard of the Celtic v Rangers game this afternoon.

The BT Sport pundits are watching on as the Glasgow rivals go head to head at Celtic Park in the second instalment of this fixture.

And while one was no doubt enjoying the spectacle, the other wasn’t so much – and Savage made sure to let his pal Sutton know over Twitter:

Sutton took exception to that and came back with a bit of stick for the former Leicester, Derby and Birmingham midfielder:

That did make us laugh – but Savage wasn’t prepared to let it go and gave a defence of his playing career:

Of course, Savage and Sutton are simply engaging in the sort of banter they’ve made a regularity when appearing on BT Sport together over recent years.

Savage does have a point too – the game has been poor, with very little quality from either team in a first half without any goals.

As for Sutton’s point on Savage, the retired Welsh midfielder actually only had three seasons in the Championship during his long career so we can see why he’d be offended at that.
