Sinclair had been taking a lot of stick from Hoops supporters on social media at half-time but came flying out of the blocks in the second-half and managed to score twice – taking his overall tally for the campaign to 14.
But Sinclair could’ve had the opportunity to grab his hat-trick when appeared to have his shirt tugged by Steven Whittaker, whilst bearing down on goalkeeper Ofir Marciano.
Speaking after the match via the Sun, Sinclair confirmed he’d had his jersey pulled and claimed whistler Beaton had thanked him for not making his life difficult.
“The ref actually said to me ‘Well done for staying on your feet’.
“If I can get a shot off, I’ll always stay on my feet.
“I wasn’t thinking about the cup final. I forgot all about the last few games and was just concentrating on today.
“I managed to get my shot off, and that was that.”
Of course, Sinclair is no stranger to diving controversies after being accused of hitting the deck a little too easily in last month’s Betfred Cup final against Motherwell.
But what do you make of his comments here? Should he really be commended for staying on his feet?
