Scott Sinclair’s stats for this season certainly don’t support the suggestion that he’s been poor for Celtic recently.
The Hoops winger has come in for criticism from some this campaign for apparently not producing the same kind of form that made him one of Brendan Rodgers’ most influential players last term.
His poor display against Anderlecht in the Champions League was probably one of his most disappointing in a Celtic shirt.
But is it wrong to use that as a stick to beat Sinclair with? We think so – and his stats this season show that he’s been a lot better than some people think.
Celtic’s Twitter account shared his goal and assist tally so far this campaign, coming in at 15 goals and 11 assists in 30 games:

Included in that run, he’s netted big goals against Anderlecht, Hibs, Astana, Hearts and Linfield – so is it out of order to criticise the English winger for his performance so far this season?
At this rate, you’d fancy Sinclair to get close to 30 goals this campaign, potentially surpassing the 25 he managed in all competitions in his first season at the club.
Celtic fans – is the criticism of Sinclair warranted?
