Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty believes Ryan Jack showed exactly why the club were so desperate to sign him in the summer during his impressive showing against Aberdeen.
Murty’s side ran out as unexpected winners with 3-0 victory over the Dons at Ibrox on Wednesday night, with James Tavernier grabbing a brace and Carlos Pena also on the score sheet.
However, according to Murty, it was Jack who was a clear standout.

The midfielder made the controversial decision to swap Aberdeen for Rangers during the summer and has came in for severe criticism from the Pittodrie faithful ever since.
Not that it appeared to bother the 25-year-old as he dominated the midfield along with the ever-impressive Ross McCrorie.
Speaking in this afternoon’s press conference, Murty praised Jack for affording his team-mates the platform to perform against Derek McInnes’ side:
GM: I thought Ryan Jack showed the reason why we wanted him at the football club.

GM: I thought Ross took information on really well and the three midfielders in there gave us the platform to go and play.

It’s been a memorable season thus far for Jack, having moved to Ibrox in the summer and making his Scotland debut in Malky Mackay’s single game in charge against the Netherlands.
