Burnley continued their excellent form this afternoon at Old Trafford by racing into a 2-0 lead against Manchester United – with midfielder Steven Defour scoring an absolutely stunning free-kick.

United boss Jose Mourinho sprung a surprise by starting both Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic up-front together in today’s must-win match, and the Red Devils started pretty brightly.

But it was just three minutes before Ashley Barnes fired Sean Syche’s impressive side ahead and even better was to come from Defour.

The Belgian was presented with a free-kick roughly 30-yards from goal in the 36th minute, and with one swipe of his right boot, he made one of the world’s greatest goalkeepers look like nothing more than a helpless bystander:

What a strike, eh? Ironically, Defour was linked with United earlier in his career and there’ll be a few in the Old Trafford home section wishing they’d signed him today!

What do you think of the goal?
