Celtic are reportedly interested in bringing Charly Musonda to the club on loan… with the Belgian youngster showing he can be a real nuisance during a training session this week.
Musonda recently signed a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with Blues boss Antonio Conte considered a huge fan of the highly-rated 21-year-old.
However, there doesn’t appear to be clear route for Musonda to make the step up into the Chelsea first team, making a loan deal in January a serious possibility.
And with Brendan Rodgers a long-term admirer of the winger, a deal could be brokered in the New Year.
Celtic fans will be keen to get a deal done too, especially after seeing Musonda’s impressive performance in training.
The former Anderlecht youngster leaves Italy international Davide Zappacosta on his backside with an impressive turn of pace, before later executing a back-heel pass which deflects of Nathan Ake for an own-goal:
And to make Musonda’s pace all the more impressive, Chelsea team-mate Pedro previously claimed that Zappacosta was the fastest player in the Premier League champions’ dressing room.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will allow Musonda to depart the club on a temporary basis or whether they would prefer to keep a closer eye on his progress.
The case of Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts will no doubt help the Hoops’ cause though, with the Englishman improving his game under Rodgers’ charge.
