The 32-year-old defender – once capped by Germany – has arrived in Glasgow earlier today to put the final touches on his deal to sign from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and Davies seems excited to begin working with him.
As we told you yesterday, some of the club’s supporters have expressed their misgivings about Compper’s suitability, given his advancing age, lack of sell-on value and his ineligibility to play in the Hoops’ forthcoming Europa League clash against Zenit Saint Petersburg in February.
But Davies has claimed he’s just the man for the job, and doesn’t appear to have any concerns or misgivings about his suitability at all:

With regular centre-back pairing Boyata and Simunovic struggling badly for form at the minute, even the most ardent Celtic fan would probably accept a new recruit was required – but is Compper the right man?
What do you think?
