Chelsea manager Antonio Conte proved just how serious he was taking the English League Cup this evening by picking a pretty strong side against Bournemouth – and it took just a few minutes before his selection was duly rewarded.
The Blues are looking to win their first trophy since the Premier League last season and will make it into the draw for the semi-finals should they be victorious tonight, and Brazilian midfielder Willian gave them the perfect start.
The excellent, free-flowing team move was started by Gary Cahill at the back, and when the ball eventually found it’s way to a lung-bursting Cesc Fabregas, all the Spaniard had to do was coolly square the ball to Willian to tap into an empty net:
Regardless of who you support, there is absolutely no denying that is a pretty special goal, and serves as a timely reminder of just how powerful and slick Conte’s men can be on their day.
