Video: Ederson’s Double Save to Deny Manchester United Was Absolutely Outrageous

Manchester City managed to defeat bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon – and they had goalkeeper Ederson to thank after an outrageous double save late in the game.

It looked like City had all three points sewn-up after scoring through David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi to lead 2-1 going into the final five minutes, but United always manage to carve out one last opportunity – especially at Old Trafford.

Substitutes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata combined to set-up Romelu Lukaku, who had been at fault for arguably both of City’s goals, and just as the Belgian was expecting the net to bulge, Ederson intervened in spectacular style.

David De Gea pulled-off a similar set of stops against Arsenal last weekend, but the Brazilian’s efforts today might have topped that:

How on Earth does he managed to keep that out?! Regardless of who you support, it’s difficult not to feel sorry for Lukaku, even if he really should score from there.

What do you think of the saves?
