Video: Marvin Compper Sends Heartfelt Goodbye Message to RB Leipzig Fans

New Celtic signing Marvin Compper has sent a heartfelt goodbye message to supporters of his former club RB Leipzig, following his departure from the German club.

After joining Leipzig from Italian side Fiorentina back in 2015, Compper went on to initially become a fan favourite amongst supporters but he’s struggled to find much game-time since the start of the current campaign.

That’s what led to Celtic’s interest, and the one-time German cap was paraded at Parkhead this afternoon in-front of the media and gave his first interview to the club’s in-house TV station, but whilst he seems genuinely delighted by his new surroundings, Compper also admits to being sad at leaving his former employers:

At 32, he might not seem like the long-term solution to Celtic’s defensive problems, but he definitely seems like an intelligent and thoughtful guy.

How do you feel about Celtic’s first official signing of the winter transfer window?
