Video: Oxlade-Chamberlain Steps in to Defend Coutinho Over Barcelona Questions

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put in an excellent performance for Liverpool this afternoon against Bournemouth – and then proceeded to follow it up with a similar display in his post-match interview.

The midfielder has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth in the Reds’ XI since moving from Arsenal last summer, but it appears he’s won over Jurgen Klopp’s trust and looked at his bustling best at the Vitality Stadium.

Chamberlain put in an eye-catching performance but the Man of the Match was undoubtedly Philippe Coutinho, who managed to conjure up perhaps his best-ever goal in a Liverpool shirt in the first-half.

The match ended 4-0 to the visitors, and when Coutinho was asked by a Sky Sports reporter after the full-time whistle about his future, The Ox decided to step in and defend his new pal:

In fairness, whilst we’d have loved to hear Coutinho’s answer, fair play to Chamberlain for sticking up for his mate, eh?

What did you think of the pairs’ performances?
