With his team struggling at 0-0 against an impressive Foxes side at Stamford Bridge, the Italian manager decided to hook both Hazard and Cesc Fabregas with more than half an hour of the second half remaining.
Hazard and Fabregas aren’t getting good reviews for their performances this afternoon, but fans still can’t believe both were subbed – particularly with Willian and Pedro replacing them.
But it’s the Belgian’s removal that sparked most outrage from supporters on social media:
If Chelsea don’t manage to win the game then Conte will surely face a lot of criticism and questions about why he decided to substitute two of their most creative players when pushing for an opening goal in a tight game.
But if they do, can anyone really have any complaints about the Italian’s decision to freshen up his attack?
Hazard has now been substituted in his last three matches, coming off in the second half of both games against Arsenal most recently.
