Former Rangers winger Aaron Nemane has revealed how he is preparing for his debut in Dutch football – by drinking gallons of tea before kick-off.
The Manchester City midfielder spent the first-half of the season on-loan at Ibrox but managed to make just six first-team appearances for the Gers and was sent back to the Etihad earlier this month.
However, the hierarchy at City have farmed Nemane back out once again, this time to Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands, who play in the country’s second-tier.
The 20-year-old is preparing to make his bow for the Eagles on Friday night against NEC and has opened up about his rather odd preparation ahead of kick-off.
Speaking via Destenor he said: “I certainly want to entertain the fans. I am a fast-paced winger, one who likes to look up the action and create many opportunities.
“It’s going in the right direction. On Friday I am ready to make my debut, against NEC. Yes, the expectations seem to be high, I have already got that. But I am naturally relaxed, so I think I can handle the pressure.
“I have not seen much more than the bed in my hotel room and I’ve never drunk as much tea as the past few days.
“It must help me to get completely fit again.”
Perhaps drinking a bit too much tea is why he never made it in Glasgow, or perhaps we just don’t have the right teabags, eh?
