The Gunners conceded a controversial penalty at the Emirates last night, with referee Anthony Taylor judging that Hector Bellerin fouled Eden Hazard in the box.
However, Match of the Day host Lineker believes Wenger crossed a line with his post-match comments, after the Frenchman claimed that he had predicted a poor refereeing decision prior to kick-off.
Lineker responded to Wenger’s statements by launching a staunch defender of match officials:
Just saw the Arsene Wenger post match interview. Seems to be suggesting some sort of referees conspiracy/corruption against Arsenal. Refs in this country might make mistakes but to suggest there is more to it than that, even in the heat of the moment, is outrageously unfair.

Arsenal have now conceded back to back penalties in the Premier League, with West Brom midfielder Jay Rodriguez bagging a last-minute goal from the spot on New Year’s Eve.
Wenger will have to rally his troops quickly though, with a trip to Nottingham Forrest in the third-round of the FA Cup this weekend.
