Jamie Carragher Jokes About Marco Reus Signing on Quiet Deadline Day For Liverpool

Jamie Carragher could only joke about Liverpool signing Marco Reus on what’s shaping up to be a quiet transfer deadline day for the club.

The Anfield outfit have been busy in this window, adding Virgil van Dijk in a £75million deal while shipping out Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Marko Grujic.

But all that business was done ahead of today’s frantic deadline day moves – and it looks unlikely that Jurgen Klopp is to do any more spending before it passes later tonight.

One fan was hopeful though, and tweeted to ex-Red Carragher to ask if he’d heard any news about potential signings.

Carragher couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with his response:

If only.

Instead, it’s more likely Klopp will be tucked up in bed along with the rest of the Liverpool hierarchy when other clubs are desperately trying to do some late business.

And you’d include Manchester City in that, as they’re beginning to be regularly linked with a big move for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez before the night is out.
