Liverpool Fans Are Buzzing to See Virgil van Dijk Make His Debut vs Everton

Virgil van Dijk is set to make his Liverpool debut in the FA Cup against Everton tonight… and fans can’t wait to see him in action.

The Reds made van Dijk the most expensive defender in history when they paid Southampton £75 million for the Netherlands international earlier this month.

And needless to say, van Dijk’s price tag and the amount of dominant performances he churned out at St Mary’s mean big things are expected of the 26-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t hesitated to throw van Dijk in either, with the defender expected to marshal Liverpool’s back-line in the combative atmosphere of a Merseyside derby at Anfield.

The club’s supporters can’t see him having much difficulty, as the majority backed the centre-half to boss his debut:

Liverpool have been on a strong run of form in the Premier League recently, while results have equally improved for Everton since Sam Allardyce replaced Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.

Form does usually go out the window in a derby though!
