The German defender was confirmed as Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the January transfer window 11 days before it opened.
And that was met with positivity by most supporters who are keen to see an improvement on the central defensive partnership of Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata, which has struggled this season.
Compper has never played in Scottish football before and despite knowing a bit about Celtic, it appears he’s been busy researching his new club – and that should go down well with supporters of the club.
Speaking in an interview with a German newspaper this week, Compper said:

Compper should join up with his new teammates when they begin warm weather training in Dubai next week and he could be in line to play in the Scottish Cup clash with Brechin on the 20th of this month.
