Barkley completed his switch to the Premier League champions earlier this afternoon, with the Toffees getting an initial £15 million plus incentives for the midfielder.
However, Anderson has called the transfer into question on Twitter.
Anderson raises concerns as to why Barkley’s agent pulled the plug on the transfer back in the summer, with Chelsea originally willing to pay £35 million for the player’s services.
He also notes that Barkley hasn’t made a single appearance for Everton since the move failed to materialise in August… and questioned why the 24-year-old’s value has since dropped to £20 million:
I will be writing to .@premierleague & .@FA calling for investigation into the circumstances around the transfer of Ross Barkley between Everton and Chelsea. Agent pulls transfer on deadline day of £35 million doesn’t play again transfer 4 months later £20 million

Whether the Premier League or the FA will take any action over Barkley’s switch to Stamford Bridge remains to be seen.
However, from the outside, you do have to wonder why the player turned down the chance to join Antonio Conte’s side only to give the move a green light four months later…
