Callum McGregor made 55 appearances for Celtic in 2017 and maintained a level of consistency that make him deserving of a spot in the top ten.
The 24-year-old has been praised for his technique and ball retention by manager Brendan Rodgers, however, he’s also shown an eye for a goal.
He’s got seven already this season, the same amount he plundered in the entirety of the previous campaign. And for a relatively young football player, McGregor has showcased flexibility and maturity as Rodgers play him in several different positions.
An impressive equaliser against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League has definitely helped his case too, as he pulled off a delicious nutmeg on Sven Ulreich.
What They Said
“Probably the most improved player in Scottish football over 2017 for me. Has stepped up for Celtic in plenty of big games and is now one of Rodgers’ most important players at a number of positions.”
