The football community has united to show its support for Silva at what must be a very difficult time for his family.
And Manchester United captain has added his backing to that, taking to Twitter to send a very classy message to the Spaniard:
Some things are much more important than football. All the best to you and your family David, especially to your little man. ?? https://t.co/Y9HkiwHOw3

And Carrick is spot on to say that, as too often football is given far more importance than it deserves. Silva’s situation just shows that there are far more to worry about in life.
