Newcastle Fans Are Dejected After Daniel Sturridge Heads to West Brom

Daniel Sturridge is on the brink of joining West Brom on-loan from Liverpool – and Newcastle United fans are absolutely gutted about the news.

The England international was once the Reds’ main striker, and formed a formidable partnership with Luis Suarez during the 2013/14 season, but things have definitely gone downhill since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club in 2015.

The German seems intent on playing with Roberto Firmino as his primary forward, and Sturridge certainly hasn’t been helped by his long list on injuries.

Still only 28, Sturridge was linked with Newcastle earlier this month, with the Magpies in desperate need of a new goalscorer, but according to Sky Sports, Sturridge has had a medical at West Brom ahead of joining Alan Pardew’s side until the end of the season.

As you can imagine, the Toon Army are more than just a little bit dejected by the nature of the knock-back:

What do you think of Sturridge’s decision? Does picking West Brom ahead of Newcastle show just how far they’ve fallen in terms of stature?
