Norwich fans aren’t happy with their club after youth prospect Glenn Middleton signed for Rangers.
The Ibrox club today confirmed that they’d signed the Scottish youth international to their academy on a deal that runs until 2020.
And when Norwich announced the move on Twitter, it didn’t get a positive reaction from supporters.
Middleton has made seven appearances for Scotland’s Under 19s, but only turned 18 earlier this month so still had plenty of time left to develop had he decided to stay at Norwich.
He was actually named on the bench for a first team FA Cup game against Southampton last season, however wasn’t able to get off the bench.
And now it appears he’s moved to Rangers in the hope of playing more first team football, as revealed by Norwich academy manager Steve Weaver here.
Rangers fans won’t know much about him – but the reaction of Norwich supporters should tell them they have a talent on their hands:
So shocked by this glenn is as good as I have seen at his age, massive lost

A little bit hasty, this lad had some promise! #PoorJudgement

Really surprised about this!

Oh ffs stop selling all our prospects
— Brad (@BradNcfc97) January 31, 2018
Massive shame but at least there's a sell on clause.

That’s a fuck*ng disgrace! Best player all round when I saw him turning out for the under 23’s! Seriously what is going on? Why don’t we just scrap the academy if we’re not going to utilise it?

Gutted he looked to have serious potential for us! I don't understand some of these Decisions! He was one of the youngsters I would have kept!

Like @Canaryb1rd very surprised and also disappointed, a very talented and promising young man that should have been playing here. Good luck to him.

Surprised as this move, thought he was one for the future, and seemed to always perform well for the u23s despite only being 18
— Tim Key (@Timmy_key) January 31, 2018
Perhaps there is a personal reason. He plays for Scotland. He appeared to have everything football wise. Pace, two feet, and a bit fiery.

Ok this is an odd one
— Tom Hughes (@ncfctom) January 31, 2018
A loan deal would have been a lot better imo
— Peter (@__PeterHunter_) January 31, 2018
That’s a proper bullshit transfer
— Mr T (@ikletez) January 31, 2018
What! Best player in u23s, why let go of him ?
— Aaron Sayer (@N_C_F_C_17) January 31, 2018
What the fuck

Are you joking

So Middleton may make an impact on the Rangers first team sooner rather than later based on his old academy manager’s comments and the reaction from the Norwich support.
