Slaven Bilic For Scotland? Fans Back Croatian For the Job

Slaven Bilic could emerge as a contender to be the next Scotland manager thanks to a campaign from supporters.

The Croatian manager appeared on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football coverage of Liverpool against Swansea last night and provided a welcome reminder of all that is good about him.

It wasn’t long ago that intense pressure saw West Ham sack him and replace him with David Moyes in the job.

But last night he spoke very well about the game, while analysing Swansea’s shock 1-0 victory over Liverpool.

Bilic is available, with a good reputation, and, most importantly, has international experience from his time managing Croatia between 2006 and 2012.

And with an apparent lack of jobs available to the Croatian gaffer, some Scotland fans believe he could be the right man to lead the Tartan Army.

The SFA were yesterday dealt a big blow with Michael O’Neill rejecting the chance to become the new national team boss.

But Bilic is the better option for some anyway:

Given the O’Neill news, you’d expect the SFA will move quickly to approach another manager – but it doesn’t bode well that they seem to have missed out on their top target.

Scotland, obviously, aren’t involved in the summer’s World Cup, but do have a friendly against Costa Rica in March and you’d expect a new manager will be in place by then.
