Liverpool got off to an absolutely brilliant start against Manchester City this afternoon at Anfield, after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired them in-front at the Kop End.

The Reds hosted the runaway Premier League leaders knowing Pep Guardiola’s men are yet to lose a single match in the English top-flight this season, but have only one at Anfield once since 1981 – and that came all the way back in 2003.

So, it seems recent history was on Liverpool’s side, and Jurgen Klopp has his men fired-up to prove a point from the very first whistle, and it took Chamberlain just nine minutes to beat the City defence, before he smashed the ball beyond a helpless Ederson:

That’s Chamberlain’s fourth goal since joining Liverpool from Arsenal last August, and he looks like a completely different player playing in midfield, rather than wing-back.

What do you think of the goal?
