Josh Windass scored the winner in last night’s Florida Cup match against Atletico Mineiro… but that didn’t excuse him a slagging from James Tavernier.
Windass came on in the second half against the Brazilian side and latched onto some neat build-up play from Eduardo Herrera to score the only goal of the game.
The 24-year-old has been on a decent run of form since Graeme Murty took over from Pedro Caixinha at the end of last year, having scored five goals in his last 11 games.
And while his goal-scoring exploits against Oswaldo de Oliveira’ side will earn him praise from the Rangers fans, it also drew the attention of a relentless Tavernier.
With Windass speaking to Rangers TV after the final whistle, Tavernier can be heard muttering and making life difficult for the ex-Accrington Stanley player in the background.
Tavernier’s interruptions eventually escalate into a brief cameo appearance from the former Wigan defender during the interview, with the pair hilariously bickering over their performances:
Rangers will be looking to add to last night’s victory with another win against Corinthians on Saturday evening.
