Video: Jurgen Klopp Confirms Philippe Coutinho Wasn’t Willing to Help Liverpool Anymore

Jurgen Klopp claims Philippe Coutinho made it “100 % clear” that he wasn’t willing to help Liverpool in the second half of the season, leaving the club with no choice but to sell him to Barcelona this month.

Liverpool’s decision to sell the Brazilian international in the winter window has raised some eyebrows among the club’s support, with plenty seemingly gutted to see the midfielder leave Anfield.

However, it appears Coutinho’s exit wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, as Klopp revealed during this afternoon’s press conference.

Klopp clarified that it was always the player’s dream to move to the Nou Camp and that he isn’t angry or disappointing with Coutinho for jumping at the chance to leave the Premier League.

Although it also doesn’t sound like the 25-year-old left him with much of a choice, something which is sure to evoke a response from the club’s fans:

Liverpool currently occupy fourth spot in the Premier League table, however, this weekend’s Premier League clash against table-toppers Manchester City will be their first game without Coutinho.
