Current Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is starting to seriously feel the pressure after Sunday’s diabolical Carabao Cup final defeat at the hands of Manchester City, and the Telegraph are claiming his successors are already being weighed-up by the club’s hierarchy.
Apparently, Rodgers is on the shortlist for the gig along with Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim, Germany’s Joachim Lowe and Man City coach Mikel Arteta, with Wenger’s contract due to run out in the summer of 2019.
But if that expiry date was to be brought forward 12 months, and Rodgers was offered the job in North London, it seems as though he’d have a lot of fans to convince first:
Brendan Rodgers @Arsenal are you fucking kidding me!!?!??

If Brendan Rodgers takes over as the manager of Arsenal, we are well and truly fucked??????

Honestly man I’d be extremely pissed off if we got Rodgers after Wenger, it’s literally a step down and at the stage Arsenal are at its a tough thing to do

You genuinely don’t understand why people don’t want Brendan Rodgers? Really?

His transfer strategy at LFC was a crime against football

Is winning the SPL and flopping in Europe a good enough CV for Arsenal? At Liverpool he didn’t win any trophies, didn’t reach any finals, one top 4 finish, wasted a lot of money and went out of the Champions League at the group stages. Arsenal shouldn’t even be considering him.

The ‘Being Liverpool’ documentary exposed him as a narcissistic fraud – from the massive photo of himself in his hallway to the patronising ‘chats’ with Sterling and Shelvey and the unforgettable ‘envelope’ moment …….that’s without the abject failures at Watford and Reading

Me : Wenger Out
Sees Brendon Rodgers being considered
Me : I am sure arsenal can be whole again under Wenger once we sell Mustafi

Luis Enrique & Brendan Rodgers have emerged as frontrunners to replace Arsene Wenger. Say what you will, but Arsenal's dedication for banter is unmatched.

I really miss The Office, if having Brendan Rodgers as the next Arsenal manager is the closest thing I can get, then bring it on. #BrendanIn

Would Brendan Rodgers really be that bad a shout as Arsenal manager?
What do you think?
