Arsene Wenger’s side will travel to Wembley for this weekend’s showpiece against Pep Guardiola’s hotly-tipped Manchester City side, and whilst they’ve been given the nod to wear their home kit, they’ll be looking slightly different than they usually do.
It turns out Arsenal’s white shorts and socks clash with City’s, and the FA’s strict rules on kits means the Gunners will need to turn out wearing red shorts and socks.
Arsenal have worn their current red and white home kit since the 1970s but were forced to turn out in all red earlier this season in the Premier League clash against West Brom.
Regardless of the reason, there’s a lot of Gooners who are very unhappy about the decision:
Are we wearing red shorts on Sunday. What a disgrace. Utterly pathetic.

Home game v WBA we both played in white shorts and we won. Away game they made us wear red shorts and we lost. This is basically a Roswell cover-up. They’re out to get us. Stop this madness! https://t.co/j3N07wa7Y8

It’s a reason why I’m so disillusioned with this club and fan base at the moment. Every little thing is moaned about.
What difference does it make if we wear red shorts?
Can someone give me a reason?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate, and Arsenal playing in red shorts in a Cup Final. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

So we have to wear red shorts with the red shirt on Sunday because of ludicrous kit rules. @pumafootball should rush out a one-off yellow and blue strip just for the final.

Trust me @Arsenal I don't like this concept of our traditional home kit meeting with red shorts and socks, it looks ridiculous. And I know most of of the fans won't accept your ideas so please change it.

Fuck off with your red shorts #arsenal

What do you think of the change? Should it really matter this much to supporters?
